Travel
Skate Safe is located at 182 Bethpage-Sweet Hollow Road in Old Bethpage, NY. Driving is the easiest way to get around the area.
Airports
The New York area has 3 major airports: John F. Kennedy (JFK), LaGuardia (LGA) and Newark (EWR). Newark is in New Jersey and is very far away from Long Island. We recommend flying into (JFK) or (LGA).
We highly recommend getting a rental car from the airport if you are flying in.
Islip/Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP) is on Long Island. Southwest and US Air are the only airlines that service this airport. If you fly into Islip and don’t rent a car, the closest Long Island Railroad (LIRR) station is Ronkonkoma. If you are staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Hauppage, they have an airport shuttle to Islip, but call (631) 348 – 1400 for further details.
Travel via Long Island Railroad: LIRR is a commuter rail with terminals at New York Penn Station and Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn, NY. The closest LIRR stops to Skate Safe are Bethpage (4 mi. from venue), Farmingdale (4.3 miles) and Hicksville (7.4 miles). Hicksville is a main station hub and therefore offers more frequent train service. To search LIRR fares and schedules, go to http://lirr42.mta.info/.
Taxis are generally available outside these stations for transportation to the venue.
Want to visit New York City?
The event is 34 miles from New York City (and an hour by car if you're lucky with no traffic). If you are planning on spending extra time in New York City, you should make separate lodging arrangements for the days/nights you want to be in NYC.
